Question of The Day...

Here is a question I pose for you all...

If an eskimo is on the Titanic and sees the iceberg approaching...
will he panic??

Thanks Edo Rex :)

Don't think he'll panic, he'd be the sole survivor cuz he'll hitch a ride on the iceberg :)

This is a very complex question.

We need to first make some assumptions:

1) The Eskimo is accustomed to traveling by sea

2) The Eskimo is rich enough to be on the Titanic or is rich to have lived in Europe to travel to the US on the Titanic or was kidnapped by English slave traders and is now trying to go home

3) The Eskimo is called Blip.

Taking these assumptions into consideration, I can say that he will not panic because he does not know that the danger is below and not above. Blip being out of his environment for some time has became distant with his Eskimo heritage, which makes him more naive.

In addition, death by sea for an Eskimo is considered a ritual that transfers them to the after-life, their own version of heaven, or Qilaq in Inuit language, which is full of penguins and whales for him to feast on forever.

hahahahah! Purgatory! I love the scientific approach!

I will just call the Eskimo Joe.. Because Joe just fires his hand made cross-bow with rope attached to the arrow and he slides across the rope to land on the iceberg and says bye bye to the people on the titanic.

And then he goes hunting for polar bears, because the Pengiuns have formed a formidable army unit with their numbers, and they fought back. So they formed a joint strike force to take out the polar bears!

Joe is now head of the largest think-tank in the US, because he patented the making of Ice. And his assitant is a Pengiun

No cause he waited for Jack to drown, threw rose off and got on that raft himself.

Then started fishing for good measure.

I loved the posts by purgatory and marzouq. Eskimo Joe will save the titanic as he has been on lookout on deck and already taken action to avoid a collision

Does anyone else find this all very...umm...un-PC?? Or am I missing something?

LOL @ Kleio...
Hmm, maybe yeah...
Well...maybe the eskimo is more in tune with nature i.e. an approaching iceberg is a good thing? Or that he/she doesn't panic because he/she knows what's coming...so my best bet that he/she will grab a drink and settle down somewhere quiet and away from the raucous and enjoy the live version of the "Titanic"

reema: LooOOL...good one :) Yup, he/she must feel right at home hitching a ride on the iceberg :)

Purgatory: LOOOOooOL Purg...this must be the most detailed explaination there is for such a simple question. U must have done your research since you say that death for an eskimo is a riual and a transfer to the after life...interesting point :) Is there a continuation?

Marzouq: Great approach for your explaination. You transformed this question into an action movie...Rambo style! With his rope slding, joint forces and polar bear hunting. A great happy ending too with the think-tank too. LooOOL! Do u have more?

miyafushi: LOOOL...I can imagine him fishing as the Titanic sinks...at least he keeps himself busy :)

anonymous: Sneaky Joe! :)

Delicately Realistic: It;s ok. It will come to you. Once you do, swing back here and comment. Would love to hear it :)

chikapappi: I know right? I was amazed myself how detailed they got. Ma shaa allah 3alaihum. Makes you wonder what goes through their mind :)

erzulie: How come?

orangina: How come?

kleio: Un-PC? well maybe, but its just my curious mind working on over-drive. Edo Rex gave me the idea :) DO u wanna at least give it a shot? Would love to know what your think?

erzulie: So true..I like the fact that you mentioned that an eskimo is more in tune with nature, but enjoying the live version of titanic with drink...just killed me :) LOOoOL! Bas 7aram all the people on the Titanic sinking to their death while the eskimo quietly sips his drink...slurp..slurp!

Well, Eskimos...or rather, Inuits, have several words for snow. One of those words is "iceberg." I think they have their bases covered. So: Yes.
