Traffic Cameras...Security vs. Privacy

A TRUE STORY:

Kuwait:
A middle aged Kuwait man went to the traffic department to renew his car registration. While processing his papers, the employee behind the counter explains, that he cannot renew his regsitration without paying his outstanding traffic fines. The man looked puzzled, and said:

Man: "Impossible!"

Employee: "No it's not, it all shows on the computer screen after I typed in your lisence plate number"

Man: "But I never speed. I never drove fast in my life!"

Employee: "Well, the traffic camera caught you speeding on 5th Ring Road"

Man: "When?"

The employee gave a specified date, which I can't remember exactly to post. So the man thought for a while then said:

Man: "That can't be true. I was out of town in a business trip. Show me the photo. I have the right to see it"

The employee later gave him a print-out of the taffic camera shot. The man took a look and agreed that it was indeed his car and realized that there was a person in the car. It was his wife. Case closed? No! There was another person driving the car...a man in a dishdasha, ghutra and 3gal. He soon remembered that his wife does not drive, and knows that she does not have any brothers and her father passed away. So who was he??

Sometime later....the divorce was final...and he kept the kids.

Now sing along..."Smile...you're on cheating spouse camera!"

What do u think of this?

Wow. What a way to find out.

In this case, as he was paying a traffic fine, he did have a right to ask for the evidence.

Poor dude. Traffic fines and a cheatin' wife. Talk about having a bad day.

So who paid the traffic fine? The husband, the wife or the wife's boy friend??

A while ago I heard that those cameras would be turned to face the other way so they'd capture an image of the car from the back instead of the front because of all the fathaye7. Never found out whether it's true or not..

It's an old story if it is the same one I heard.

I wonder if there are similar stories about cheating husbands? It's too bad women don't renew car registrations more often ;)

I believe he was lucky to catch her like that, and don't forget he has his children with him....

as for the cam I do believe we need more inforcement of the low to stop the street wars and masacres that we witness each day....

and I don't think the story is true, in fact I believe it's one of the newst members to the kuwaiti urban legends....!!!

He should have made her pay the traffic fine...

I dont care if the guy or the girl cheats in a marriage, the guilty party deserves to have the book thrown at them.

What nerve!!

Funny story
I always make sure I'm in a good pose when I'm about to get caught by the traffic camera *CHEEEZ* Sometimes I even make sure my hair looks good a few seconds before I get caught.

Once my sister was in the passenger seat next to me but she was trying to take something from the back seat. So the camera caught us while she was doing that! She was like "this isn't fair! GO BACK NOW" so she would be ready for 'shooting'..

Now, I know where the cameras are all around Kuwait. I haven't got caught in 2 years! I stopped speeding anyway.. You know people grow up lol

I agree with SheWrites, I never understood how they could get a clear sot of the person driving.

But then again they can supposedly tell if you have ur seat belt on or not.

So i dunno anymore...

so that's why men always say Muroor is so busy & crowded, let us do the hard work, so they can cheat, hide the pictures & the wife will never know

but I thought you can't see people in that shot, I was told that all you can see is the license plate number and of course cars details, I don't know exactly how it works but I do know that you can not see faces =/ are you sure this happened in kuwait?! maybe they have different cameras all over the country =/
