It's About Time!
How about this...a second post in one day. A first for me :)
Anywhoo...today's headlines:
Al-Rai TV was stormed by the Slobah tribe in protest that Weld Il-Deerah made a racial slur during the 0h-so-tacky show "Girgi3an". Weld il-Deerah apparently called Sadam Hussein a "Slobah Dog" which angered the tribe and raided AL-Rai TV station looking for him and made a death threat to him. Weld il-Deerah supposedly made a public apology to them claiming it was a "slip of the tongue"
All I can say is....TOO LATE!! Girgi3an deserved what happened along with Al-Rai TV to support such shows. Let's see if there will be "Girgi3an" in next year's Ramadan TV show listings. A lesson to be learned indeed.

I saw the apology. I thought it was a joke. No, I mean i thought he was joking like usual :) Then i realised he was being serious.

Hmmm... According to my understanding (and please correct me if I'm wrong)
His reference was that Saddam is "like a dog belonging to the Slobah tribe".
Not a Slobah Dog (i.e. calling the Slobah people dogs).
Does that make sense?
Either way, I say "Fuck apologies".
Either do it all the way, Or don't do it at all...

funny u mention the al-rai tv incident.. my parents were just talkin about what happened.. i think its uncivilized what they did, but i guess al-rai had it comin anyways..
personally i dont agree with violence, it only leads to more violence, so how is that gonna help solve anything ?

Diamon: The story is about a tv celebrity was doing a skit during a Ramadan TV show which is supposed to be comedy. SO when another person acted to be Saddam Hussein, the TV host called him a Slobah dog. Slobah is a tribe or community is Kuwait and they got offended by that racial remark. SO they all went in protest to the TV station that aired the show to find the celebrity and kick his ass! So much for freedom of speech huh.
Amunki is right- the phrase used Chalb 9lobah is an old phrase used by Kuwaitis.
It was just taken to an extreme by those people.
It is my understanding that the Salab are comaparable to gypsies.
