Government vs. Private

Let's Compare and Contrast...shall we?

* Government Job: 7:30 am to 2 pm (sometimes even 12:30 if they sneak out early...hehehe)

* Private-Sector Job: 8:00 am to 4 pm or 9:00 am to 5 pm...maybe 6 pm, 7 pm, etc. (some work half days on Thursdays...which don't make sense to me)

I'm being objective here...when someone who works in a government job and leaves at 2 pm...they say..."offfff...I had a loooooong day...i'm so tired". So what do you consider "a long day" for someone who works till 6 pm in the private sector? And what about people who work in the bank sectors who work double shifts? I'm not doubting the hard work that some people do in the government sector...but what is it that they do to believe that they had a long day? Is it they wake up earlier than us? They type of people they deal with? The bureaucracy they go through? One thing that I'm very proud of is that the number of Kuwaitis working in the private sectors is constantly growing rapidly. Draw your own conclusions :)

Any thoughts?

Your post makes me want to feel sorry for myself. *I pity da fool*

Don't forget that they have to have their 2 hour naps otherwise their days are even more tiring :P

no need to insult us government workers :P we are people

i don't know about you , but anything over 30 min is long to me

i work in the government not because i'm lazy ( i'm lazy :p ) but because i tried for privite sector and i couldn't find a job so i took the government

and the people working 2 shifts at banks shouoldn't complain , me and my buddy graduated from same school and college , he works at a bank , double shift and thursday and saturday , i work 5 days 8 - 2 only
and he gets 2 X my wage .

you can't have it both ways

I'm not working yet but the Kuwaitis I know who work in the private sector are actually excited about their job. Someone I know who works in the government always complains because the people there are gossip more than they work and there is no work to begin with so you're just killing time.

My father always tells me: “If you want work and experience work in private sector and if you want to sleep and gain weight work in the government sector.”

And I am one of the 3% for two years now :)

Bo_Ghazi: Is it only 3%? Wow, thats low. To me, it looks more. Does this number include private-owned buisnesses?

Toomi: I can imagine how tiring the double shifts are. Good thing you getting your rest :)

Forzaq8: True :) But trust me, I was not insulting. I just wanted ppl to clear the situation, and you did :) Thanks.

Stallion: Satllion, no I'm pointing anything your way. You dont even work in the government sector...You work in the private sector..only with government hours....hehehehe :P

ezrulie: Thats so true. Hope you find the job you love, Good Luck :)

True Faith: Good for you that you work in the private sector. Two years and and counting :)
