Kuwait Bloggers are Better!

I was having a conversation with Nibaq the other day. He mentioned that out of all blogs out there, Kuwait bloggers are the most amazing to read. So I did my little research online browsing different blogs and I have to say that it's true. Bloggers in Kuwait are, by far, the most enjoyable to read compared to other bloggers in the region (UAE, Bahrain, Lebanon, etc). Don't get me wrong, other bloggers in other countries are very good, but you have to admit that Kuwait Bloggers are more into it. This also includes Kuwait bloggers who are outside Kuwait as well. I think it's their way to be close to home. Kuwait bloggers have more things to say...to share..to admit. The language we use, or the tone of voice, the sarcasm, the humor...WE ROCK!! Now I'm not saying this just because I live in Kuwait. I'm saying this as a known fact. Also, when I say "Kuwait bloggers", it does not necessarily mean only Kuwaiti nationals. I'm talking all people who live in Kuwait in general. (although I have to admit that Kuwaiti's are more fun to read). Alot of people may say that we have a lot of free time on our hands...makoo shoghol...but whatever!! I get that a lot. But it don't matter. I don't really care what people say. Blogging is a way of expression artistically, personally, culturally. :) What do you all think?

Alone @ Work (Part 2)

OK...it's official...I'm alone at work. I wrote about this in a previous post called Alone @ Work. My boss and another co-worker are both in the US in a one-month business trip (training/seminar/...yada yada yada). And the Administrative Assistant also left the country to get married and wont be back for another month as well. Threfore, that leaves me alone to maintain the entire PR & Marketing Department :) I AM GONNA LOVE IT! This is the first time that I will be in charge of a complete department...a time to prove my skills as an employee. Although I have a lot of work that was given to me by my boss before she left, I am looking forward to it. This is critical time in the institution of where I work during my boss' absence. Alot of executive decisions must be made, and numerous meetings to attend. I hope I make my boss proud as I am representing the department. I know it will be challenge but I am ready. Wish me luck :)

Friday was AMAZING!

OK...dunno where to start. Three very very very good friends are leaving Kuwait to pursue their Masters...good for them. So a friend of mine and myself wanted to plan a going-away party for all three of them on Friday. Basically the people involved in getting the guest list were the mutual friends of the three who are leaving.
We were planning all week to make it work out....guest lists, venue, food, music...yada yada yada. So we decided to do a boat party...again. We reserved a yatch that fits about 50 ppl. It was gonna be a surprise party for 12 hours. The guests were supposed to be in the yatch at 8 am and leave for Kubbar. The rest of us, (which included the people organzing the event, and the three friends who are leaving, total of 9 ppl) were supposed to take a smaller boat at 11 am and head to Kubbar. They believe it was just a regular day on the beach. Once we get there, all the guests at the Yatch will yell suprise!!! SO all was going well, until mother nature decided to intervene. On Friday morning, guests started to arrive at the yatch and ready to have fun in sun. The captain said that we cannot go to sea because the tides are high and very windy. Even if we still wanted to go, the coast guards would send us right back!!! Screw the plan!! Again, Kuwait's weather working unsual again. Weather is amazing during the weekdays to go to the beach. But when the weekend hits...weather sucks!!! So what next? Basically we had to find another venue. After all, ppl did show up. Thankfully, Stallion suggested to go his house. He has a pool and large basement for us to chill and enjoy the rest of the day. So we had to call the friends who were leaving and explain what happened...even tell them about the suprise. So we all ended up going to Stallion's house and had a blast...chilling by pool...music blasting...basically having fun spending quality time with our friends who will be leaving us to pursue their masters. It was wild. Alot of weird stuff happened as well. People falling in the pool with their clothes on, someone actaully getting his head shaved, and playing DJ using people's ipods! I got home later that night...tired and worn out from sitting under the sun all day. Took a shower, had an orange...aham shay, then passed out till this morning. Thanks Stallion again for your hospitality yet again. I hope all had fun. Although the original plan did not work out...but it was just as fun.

ZA7MA !!!

I can't stand driving anymore in Kuwait. Places that usually take 10-15 min to get there...now takes almost half an hour. One time, it took me almost 2 hours to get to a place in salmiya. I left my house at 7, and I did not get to the place till close to 9 pm!!
I live in Jabriya and it is smack right in between the 4th and & 5th Ring Roads....and i'm sure you all know that both roads are under major construction! I work in Salmiya, so going to work in the morning is fine (not all the time though). But heading to salmiya at night is PURE HELL!!!!! Traffic everywhere and cars coming from different directions...basically chaos! I tried different routes and shortcuts but seems other people are doing the same thing, so it causes traffic on those places as well....Maghreb Road, Fahaheel Road....I tried them all. And why is there so much traffic on a weekday anyways?? Well I guess its summer vaccation and so many are off...unlike me. Ya 7ath'hum illi sakneen ib Salwa aw Rumaithiya...just one street and they are there in salmiya in a 5 min max!....Share3 il Ta3awin all the eway :) Anyways, I just wanted to vent out.. Gotta get back to work now...I have a project deadine by 4 pm. Take care y'all. OOOOoooH It's the weekend!

Technology???

I thought technology these days is supopsed to make things easier for us. Now I wont even get into the big stuff. Let me talk about something minor...such as my Ipod. Even something as small as an mini Ipod can become a headache. Its supposed to be a life savor in which you can upload numerous songs (I have almost 600 songs on my ipod) instead of carrying a walkman (ahhh..the good 'ol days). Anyways, My ipod is completely dead and it has not been a year already. I got it as a birthday gift last November (2004). The only way I can listen to to is when its plugged in to the elctricity. If not, the battery will die after just one song!! So now I can't even use my frickin' ipod when I'm walking in the mamsha (jogging). I can listen to it in my car only when I connect it to my tape deck using the "tape-with-wire" thingy (dunno the technical name) and the power is connected via the lighter deck. Now I have wires all over the place. It the era of wireless...What's up with that! I know many people will say to get the I-trip in which I connect it to my ipod and tune in to a free radio station and listen to my songs. Stallion has one and he seems to like it. Another friend has it and he dont like it since you can always hear static. SO BLAH BLAH BLAH!!!! So as Janet Jackson says "Get The Point?...Good..Let's Dance!!"

It was a sign for fitness gym and the name was IRON MAN GIM!!!! I mean....come one...GIM???? All I can say is "No Comment" I know the photos are not the best quality, but at least your get the point. Enjoy :)

MY ROOM...

I was glancing around my bed room. I have a belief that your room is your haven. So I like my room to be cozy and to be a true representation of who I am. I had a theme for my room when I first moved in a year ago....A loungy setting. But circumstances stopped me from completing my room to my taste. Instead, it just became a place where stuff kept piling up. So I think it's time for a change. SOme people say its cool because it has a character. Some people say its too much or clusterred. I dunno..I kinda like it. What ya'll think?

It's a sad...sad day in Mankind. Rampurple has officially left the building. She disappeared from the world of blogging! It's like an end of an era.

The search begins....

Noodasia :)

I went to Noodasia today. A new Thai resturant at the Marina Crescent. I was at work when my friend called me around 1:30 pm to meet up for lunch during the break. Her office is down the same street from where I work and Marina Mall is literally a 2 minute drive. She suggested Noodasia. Of course after being 20 minutes late (last minute work details) , I finally got there. It was a quiet time at the crescent...just the way I like it. The resturant is on the second floor overlooking the peir. The decor was very New York posh. It's considered the "House of Noodles" so you can imagine the different kinds of noodle dishes...not to mention rice, dumplings, soups...yada yada. I ordered the Thai Chicken in coconut sauce. My friend ordered the lemon butter fish. The food came and we talked up a storm about a lot of things...something down the line of pushing buttons, freaking out, and broken arms...LOOooooL. While eating my dish, I realized it was a spicy dish, which is fine with me, but I soon bit into a scorching hot chilli pod!!!! I burned up I could not see straight. I looked closer into my dish and saw that the chef cut up both green and red chilli peppers (fresh I might add) and allowed the chilli seeds to swim in the sauce. I lost my sense of taste after that. But of course, we ordered dessert which made it better....Bananna fritters with vanilla ice cream. IT WAS AMAZING!!! I looked at my watch and saw it was 2:24 pm and I had a meeting back at work at 3 pm. We paid and left in a hurry. Overall, I loved the resturant. Good food (aside from the chilli), great decor and excellent company. I always enjoy my time with my friends. GO and try Noodasia and let me know what y'all think :)

Pigging Out...Bad idea!

I have an upset stomach!! Today at work, the theme of the day was food. Just eat and be merry! Since it was Wednesday, a certain department deceided to order sushi for lunch for everybody!! Knowing me, you know I will not say no to sushi :) It was from Sakura. They ordered my favorite...Qutaiba Maki :) There were all kind of rolls, and sashimi! I ate till I dropped..there was a lot of food. Later on that day, a colleage of mine in the HR department was his birthday as well. So there was cake (2 cakes I might add: 1 chocolate cheesecale, and 1 strawberry cheesecake) from this diet center that makes low calorie cakes. They also brought an abundance of pastries along with the cake. Of course, it was the guy's birthday, so it would be rude to say no to cake. So I am so full now that I can burst. Not mention the numerous cups of coffee I was having all day while working. Just when I am thinking about eating healthy, I pig out today. Well at least it was sushi and a "diet" cake :) My plan is to tone up, eat right and walk/jog alot. A friend of mine will be coming back from London soon (sometime is July) and we decided to mutaully push each other to get fit. I'm all for it!

Just One Of Those Days..

Today has been such an unproductive day. Its a good day, but very unproductive. For a while, it felt like it was a Wednesday and I could not wait till work is over. But then it dawned on me that it's still Monday. Ah well...gotta deal with it.
I'm at work right now. I did a couple of projects today. Had lunch during my break, and now I'm writing on my blog. Dunno what I have to do today. I'm in the mood to go walking by the beach...get some excercise. Maybe meet up with friends for coffee or something. Oh damn, I almost forgot...I have to pay rent!!! And I also wanna get beige cargo pants. Pull and Bear ran out of beige. All they have is dark grey. Now I gotta search. Dunno where though. ANyways, I gotta get back to work now. I have some design projects to finalize by Wednesday. Deadlines are a killer. Hopefully the remaining of this day will be eventful. Later y'all :)

John Mayer

While driving yesterday, I heard the song "Daughters" by John Mayer on the radio. I forgot what station. It's a really simple and emotional song. No big and loud instruments..just John Mayer's voice and his guitar. I heard it before, but yesterday, I was really feeling it more than usual for some odd reason. After the song ended on the radio, I remembered I had it on my ipod. So I hooked up my ipod to the car stereo and heard the song on over and over again.. Again I say....I dunno why. It was blasting in the car and I was singing along. It became that kind of day when a song gets stuck in your head. So all I did yesterday was sing the song to myself and hum the tune. I couldn't get it out of my head. But who cares, it's a great song. Thanks Stallion for introducing me to that song :)

Lyrics from the song:

"Fathers be good to your daughters
Daughters will love like you do
Girls become lovers, who turn into mothers
So mothers be good to your daughters too"

The Weekend Is Here :)

Just like the song..."I Can't Wait For The Weekend To Begin." That song has been playing in my head all morning. I'm gonna have a decent weekened. I don't wanna jinx it.Today, I'm going to a potluck dinner in a couple's house who will be leaving Kuwait for good.
That's so sad. I'm gonna miss them. It's kind of a farewell dinner. Since it's a potluck, I'm gonna bring my favorite dish that I am gonna make myself...STUFFED MUSHROOMS with cheeze. My mouth is watering. Yes..I can cook. If you wanna taster...just let me know and I will be happy to oblige :) Thursday will be the weekly lunch with the family...anuts, uncles, cousins..yada yada yada. It's usually a lot of food and a lot of laughs. Thursday night still is undecided. Basically it's open for suggestions. Friday...I'm OFF TO THE BEACH!! As you may recall my previous post (Beach Weather! on Sunday, May 29,2005), I wanna go to the beach. Dunno where yet. My intention is to become completely tanned by Saturday morning for work :)
